By using approved and tested methods we can clean emission filters using a process that includes a pre-clean of the filter followed by a flow check the results of which are then recorded.

The filter then is heated for a number of hours to burn of residual deposits and after cooling the resulting ash is then removed by subjecting the filter to a vacuuming process which deposits the particles into a sealed container ready for disposal. Following this the filter is again flow tested and the results recorded.

By comparing the results from various filter types we are able to assertain how effective the cleaning has been and so determine just how much more efficient the filter will become when it is returned to service. it is also possible to tell if there is any internal damage to the filter.

The Emission Control Centre has been officially approved by Optaire through Unitec to test and clean filters using this process.

DPF filters for both CARS and VANS can now be cleaned inhouse so offering a cost effective solution to what was previously an expensive filter change.
